“By this slavery of love, we offer to Christ through Mary not only our bodies, souls and goods, but also our good works, past present and future …”
(Constitutions, 84)
On May 8th in honor of the Most Holy Virgin of Luján, Father Gustavo Nieto, General Superior, in the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, made a special vow in thanksgiving for all the vocations that our Benevolent Mother has granted our Religious Family. We all gathered at the Basilica for the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in which Father Nieto as a sign of his gratitude, offered a rose for each of the vocations that we received in the past year, and for the three seminarians that would be uniting themselves to God through solemn profession. In addition, as a sign of our filial confidence in Mary as an Institute, he promised the construction of a Sanctuary in Tajikistan in her honor, the foundation of a Monastery of masculine contemplative life in Papua New Guinea, and another of feminine contemplative life in Tajikistan.
The vow, the three promises, the offering of the roses, along with the final vows of the three seminarians that will soon be ordained to the diaconate, was source of immense joy for all of those present, and for the entire Institute. Following the Mass, all were invited to the feast which took place in the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas (Angelicum), where we celebrated with the Religious Family.
This day of special importance was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm, in thanksgiving for all the benefits received through the intercession of Our Beloved Mother and with trust in her motherly assistance, always present in the work entrusted to our care.
